As the meet the driver series continues we move our conversation to TNR's first Canadian Mike "Floppy" Tellier!
Q: For those new to TNR, would you care to elaborate as to why most veterans call you “Floppy”?
A: The nickname "Floppy" was
given to me almost immediately after I signed up at TNR. Being the first Canadian to race in the league, Kyle Geveshausen (being the big South Park fan he is) dubbed me Floppy. It came from lyrics from the song "Blame Canada" from the "South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut.”
With all their beady little eyes
And flappin' heads so full of lies.
Q: From my understanding, you were one of the first to hear about the TNR revival. What were your initial thoughts when Garrett reached out?
A: "Is this real?? Yes!" It had been quite a few years since me and Garrett had talked last, and I was excited to get everyone back together.
Q: As one of our longest tenured members, could you briefly tell us how you got started in TNR all those years ago?
A: I found TNR way back in 2004. I Google searched something silly like NASCAR 2005 leagues and just happened to find this awesome group of guys.
Q: Do you have a favorite on-track TNR memory from the time we spent running NR2003?
A: My favorite memory is hard to pick. Either flying to space at Delaware Speedway with Peter Short and Jake Williams or Tractor Attack dominating SuperSpeedways with Garrett Gleason.
Q: John Deere and Red Bull have been loyal sponsors. Can we expect to see them on your car again this season?
A: Nothing better than mowing the grass, sippin' on a Red Bull on a warm summer day.
Q: What are your expectations this season?
A: My expectations are to have fun. I’m just glad to be back racing with everyone.
